The Royal Netherlands Academy of Arts and Sciences is dedicated to improving the quality of higher education and promoting innovation within this sector. The Higher Education Committee advises the Academy’s Executive Board on relevant issues.

The Higher Education Committee is available to advise on, respond to and express the Academy’s views on policy in the field of higher education. It focuses primarily on trends and developments (in particular innovation) that are relevant for science and society.

The Committee also advises on the accreditation process for research Master's programmes in which the Academy is involved.
