The Science, Ethics and Integrity Committee advises the Academy’s Executive Board on ethical matters and questions of scientific integrity.
The Science, Ethics and Integrity Committee concerns itself with ethical questions. Much of its work pertains to very specific, current issues, and does not involve major advisory procedures. In addition, the Committee monitors questions of scientific ethics in the Netherlands and abroad and surveys the related viewpoints.
Codes of conduct for scientific integrity are one of the Committee’s key concerns. Its work in this area includes coordinating various codes of conduct for research in Europe and the rest of the world. The Committee also advises on the introduction and enforcement of such codes.
The Committee’s members are appointed in a private capacity.
