Hendrik Muller Prize for Behavioural and Social Sciences

The Dr Hendrik Muller Prize for Behavioural and Social Sciences is awarded every other year to a researcher or group of researchers who has made a significant or valuable contribution to the behavioural and social sciences.

The prize, EUR 25,000, was established in 1990 and is awarded and funded by the Dr Hendrik Muller's Vaderlandsch Fonds Foundation.

The foundation is named after Hendrik Pieter Nicolaas Muller (1859-1941), a Dutch businessman and diplomat. After a successful business career in Rotterdam, Dr Muller served as a diplomatic representative to Romania (1919-1924) and former Czechoslovakia (1924-1932).

Behavioural and social sciences

Who is it for?

Individual researchers or a group of researchers who are either Dutch or working in the Netherlands and active in the behavioural and social sciences, or foreign researchers in the behavioural and social sciences whose work focuses on the Netherlands

Nomination and award

Nominations may be submitted until 1 May 2013 by researchers working at a Dutch university or research institute. The nomination form can be found on the right-hand side of this page.

The Board of the Academy's Humanities and Social Sciences Division will appoint a five-person jury to advise it on which nominee should receive the prize.

The award will be presented on Monday 9 December 2013.
