Priority Programme (closed)

Priority Programmes have formed the core of the Scientific Programme Indonesia – Netherlands since 2000. Priority Programmes consist of integrated, coherent sets of research activities focusing on a specific, mutually agreed research theme or problem.

Objective

The purpose of the Priority Programmes is to encourage long-term joint research networks. They require close collaboration between researchers working at different institutions in the Netherlands and Indonesia. Priority Programmes are open for all scientific and scholarly disciplines.

Research

The Academy selected four Priority Programmes for the 2005 – 2011 period. They are in the fields of:

  • Social Sciences and Anthropology: ‘In Search of Middle Indonesia’
  • Chemical Technology: ‘Valorisation of Indonesian renewable resources and particularly Jatropha curcas using the BIO-REFINERY concept’
  • Agriculture and Biotechnology: ‘High Quality Solanaceous Vegetables by Exploration of Natural Biodiversity (INDOSOL)’
  • Medical Sciences: ‘Parasitic Infections and Inflammatory Diseases: The web of immune responses, host genetics and environmental exposure’
