The Challenges Exploration Grants are once-only subsidies for unconventional, creative and/or innovative research plans in Indonesia.

Objective

The objective of this one-off SPIN subsidy is to allow scientific exploration of unorthodox thinking and innovative ideas in addressing topical scientific and societal challenges in Indonesia.

Themes

The proposals are addressing one of the following scientific themes:

• Green Commodities, Sustainable Energy and Water Research 
• Infectious Diseases and Health 
• Social and economic Development

The postdocs,whose proposals selected by the KNAW, have the possibility to spend one year and 100.000 euro each on their explorative scientific project.
