Programme Leader of the e-Humanities Group Killam Visiting Scholar at University of Calgary

8 februari 2012

Programmaleider e-Humanities Group wordt gastonderzoeker Universiteit van Calgary

Dr. Sally Wyatt, Programme Leader of the e-Humanities Group of the Royal Netherlands Academy of Arts and Sciences and Professor of Digital Cultures in Development in the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences at the University of Maastricht in Holland, is widely recognized as a leading authority in the area of Science and Technology Studies (STS).

As the Killam Visiting Scholar during the Winter 2012 semester, Dr. Wyatt's proposed research will examine the everyday lived experience of academics in the digital age. Her research will focus on how mundane digital technologies, including personal computers, scanners, photocopiers and the associated applications of word processing, email and spreadsheets, have affected the conduct and organization of research over the past 30 years.

The Killam Visiting Scholar Program is awarded once a year and provides sponsorship of a distinguished scholar who will make significant contributions to academic life at the University of Calgary. The visiting scholar participates in the research and teaching programs of the host department or faculty, as well as engaging in their own research.
