Two students, seven PhD candidates and a post-doctoral student will be meeting more than 25 Nobel laureates in early July during the 62nd Lindau Nobel Laureate Meetings. This year’s meetings will focus on physics.

All ten candidates nominated by the Academy have been selected by the Council for the Lindau Nobel Laureate Meetings. 
The following young Dutch researchers have been selected:

• Liesbeth Janssen, Radboud University Nijmegen 
• Magdalena Preciado Lopez, FOM Institute for Atomic and Molecular Physics 
• Evert van Nieuwenburg, Leiden University 
• Stefania Salvadori, University of Groningen 
• Hugo Taminiau, Delft University of Technology 
• Jordy de Vries, University of Groningen

Participants

They and more than five hundred other young researchers from around the world will be meeting 25 Nobel laureates for Physics between 1 and 6 July 2012. The programme includes lectures by the Nobel laureates, plenary discussions, workshops and various social events.

Lindau Nobel Laureate Meetings

The aim of the Lindau Nobel Laureate Meetings is to encourage the transfer of knowledge between generations of scientists, reinforce international networks, and inspire both young researchers and Nobel laureates. The meetings are dedicated alternately to chemistry, physics, and medicine/physiology. Every five years, the meeting is interdisciplinary in nature. Meetings in the economic sciences have taken place every two years since 2004. The Council for the Lindau Nobel Laureate Meetings began organising this event in 1951. The Academy has participated since 2008.
