The Royal Netherlands Academy of Arts and Sciences (KNAW) organises together with its Indonesian and Dutch partners - the Ministry for Research and Technology (RISTEK), the Ministry of Education and Culture (DIKTI) and the Netherlands Organisation for Scientific Research (NWO) - a symposium to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Scientific Programme Indonesia-Netherlands (SPIN).
The symposium will also mark the official kick-off for the new Joint Research Projects. The leaders of the projects, which will run from 2012 to 2016, will introduce their research plans.
Major achievements and discoveries of collaborative research within the framework of 10 years of SPIN will be presented. Lasting networks of cooperation and capacity building will also be highlighted.
Excellent scientists and high level officials of scientific and government institutions from both countries, will be invited to participate and discuss the future of scientific cooperation between Indonesia and the Netherlands.
