KNAW is suspending a number of prizes and subsidies
A number of KNAW prizes and subsidies are financed from the return on invested capital. As you will know, those returns are currently under pressure. Although the damage is limited in our case, we have nevertheless decided to halt spending in order to avoid capital contraction. We are referring here to a number of smaller funds. You can read more about the specific consequences of this measure in January on the web pages of the funds in question. It goes without saying that, where possible, the KNAW will honour the spending promises made.

The Royal Netherlands Academy of Arts and Sciences:
Awards grants for research, conference visits or periods of residence abroad;
Contributes to the cost of organising international conferences, workshops and colloquia in the Netherlands;
Promotes international communication and partnerships.
