Academy Professor Prize

The Academy awards the Academy Professor Prize to researchers between 54 and 59 years of age for exceptional achievement throughout the course of their careers. The Prize is intended as a lifetime achievement award.

The Academy confers two separate prizes, each worth EUR 1 million. One prize is awarded to a researcher in the social sciences or humanities, and the other to a researcher in the natural, technical or life sciences. The money must be used to fund scientific or scholarly research.

Who is it for?

For outstanding researchers between 54 and 59 years of age whose primary appointment is with a Dutch research institution (see Regulations).

Nomination

The Academy awarded the final Academy Professor Prize in 2016. Nominations are no longer being accepted.
