China Exchange Programme (CEP) – Summer Schools

Aim of programme

CEP aims to foster long-term research collaboration between the Netherlands and China by providing seed money for new cooperation. The programme supports the exchanges of junior researchers, short-term joint research projects, and a yearly themed summer school in all fields of science.

What can you apply for?

Financial support to Dutch universities, research institutes, laboratories, or research groups wishing to organize a themed Summer School with Chinese counterparts. Maximum funding is € 50,000.

Who can apply?

A Dutch university represented by a senior researcher or other publicly financed scientific research institute in the Netherlands and a Chinese university or research institute residing under one of the Chinese counterpart organisations (MoE, CAS or CASS) represented by a senior researcher.

How can you apply? 

The deadline for submitting applications for a Summer School in the Netherlands is 1 September 2016, 13.00 hrs (CET) 

Please note

  • Applicants should read the guidelines and infosheet carefully before submitting the application form. You can find these documents on the side of this page.
  • Applicants for a Summer School with CAS/CASS are advised that their Chinese partner (institution) should simultaneously submit a copy of its application, or the relevant Chinese application form, to the Chinese counterpart authority to which their institution reports. 
  • Applicants for  a Summer School with MoE only have to submit their application on the KNAW side. If necessary, the Ministry of Finance will contact the Chinese applicant to retrieve further information on his/her application.
