Violinist Janine Jansen (1978) has long been a world-class soloist. She has worked with almost all the famous conductors (Gergiev, Haitink, Mehta, Maazel, Jansons), and with many world-famous orchestras, such as the Berliner Philharmoniker, the New York Philharmonic and the Concertgebouw Orchestra, with which she has a special relationship. For more than ten years, she has organised her own Chamber Music Festival in Utrecht and frequently plays chamber music herself.
Jansen has a contract with Decca and her recordings are wildly popular. To mark the release of her album of Bach concertos and sonatas, she will be going on two major European tours this season. Jansen won the Nederlandse Muziekprijs in 2003 and the Concertgebouw Prijs in 2012. She has also received numerous foreign awards.
