Nomination and selection of the Heineken Laureates is entrusted to the Royal Netherlands Academy of Arts and Sciences to ensure the highest possible standards, integrity and independence of the prizes. The winners of the Dr A.H. Heineken Prize for Art are chosen by an independent jury.

Nominations Candidates are nominated by other scientists or learned institutions throughout the world. Prospective nominees should be active scientists or scholars who are expected to continue their research activities for at least ten years. Their achievements in the field of biochemistry and biophysics, medical research, environmental research, history or cognitive science are outstanding and a source of inspiration to others.

Nominations for the 2010 Heineken Prizes may be submitted until 1 November 2009 by using the nomination form (Word for Windows).

Selection The Academy appoints special committees which are responsible for selecting the winners of the prizes: Selection Committee for the Dr H.P.
