Effective negotiation

During this training session, you will learn the basic principles of the Harvard method of negotiation. You will gain insight into your own negotiating style. You will learn how to prepare a negotiation smartly and how to achieve more with a focus on win-win. During the training session, you will also actively practise negotiating skills on the basis of practical situations. This ensures that the reference points you learn are directly applicable in practice.

Target group

All Academy staff who want to learn to negotiate more effectively. For example, this may involve negotiations within a project, about a salary or a range of tasks. Your negotiating partners may be team members, colleagues, but also people higher up in the hierarchy.


This training course covers the following topics:

  • The principles of effective negotiation according to the Harvard Method;
  • Your negotiating style;
  • Negotiating skills;
  • You will learn the skill of setting boundaries while remaining friendly and you’ll develop a mindset in which you maintain your energy and boost your impact.

Practical information

  • Duration: Two sessions, from 10 a.m. to 4.30 p.m. These two sessions will be followed by another online session in which the lessons learned will be refreshed and current questions will be dealt with.
