Social Sciences Council

The Social Sciences Council works to promote the social sciences and advises on pertinent matters. Where necessary, it initiates and encourages collaboration between individual researchers and institutions. It also represents social science researchers in the Netherlands and abroad.

The Social Sciences Council advises on the behavioural and social sciences, including anthropology, public administration, communication science, demography, economics, didactics, educational theory, spatial planning, political science, psychology, sociology, social geography, and those aspects of health science, law and history that touch on the social sciences.

The Council prepares advisory reports for the Academy’s Executive Board and organises plenary conferences [plenaire conferenties] and meetings between social scientists and humanities scholars from different organisations (Social Sciences and Humanities - SSH-beraad).
