The digital humanities hold great promise for the study of Islamic history and culture. What will the future bring by way of new methods and research questions?

Surveying the vast Islamicate repository of human culture at a keystroke? Using advanced data-mining algorithms and network analyses? A lot more infrastructure is needed before that becomes even remotely realistic, say many scholars engaged in Islamic Digital Humanities today.

This Academy Colloquium, organized jointly by the Bridging the Gap Project, Utrecht University and the Digital Islamic Humanities Project, Brown University (United States), fields discussions on ways to move forward.

The language of communication this event will be English.
