What can artists gain from entering the community of academic writers? What can scholars and scientists learn from different forms of writing, such as poetry, prose and science fiction narratives? Scholars affiliated with ARIAS and members of the Dutch Society of Arts will explore mutual lessons regarding artistic and academic writing practices.
Unlike in the UK and the US, Dutch BA students do little creative writing. In fact, creative writing has long been ignored in the Netherlands, even in debates on artistic research. And it is only now that hybrid forms of writing are gaining attention. During this debate, artists and scholars will help pave the way towards new ways of writing, both in the academic world and in art.

About Art-Knowledge
What can the sciences learn from the arts (visual and performing arts, literature, architecture, music etc.)? And what can the arts learn from academia? The Academy and ARIAS are offering a series of four evening events at which artists and researchers will show, perform and lecture on the way art research operates at the interface of art and academia – from new ways of writing to new concepts of wellbeing, experimental forms for researching major climate questions, and experiments in education.
