The Royal Netherlands Institute of Southeast Asian and Caribbean Studies (KITLV)

The Royal Netherlands Institute of Southeast Asian and Caribbean Studies (KITLV) (1851) conducts research from an interdisciplinary and comparative perspective. The research focuses mainly on the continuities and discontinuities between the colonial period, contemporary history and contemporary developments. The programme also includes the impact of the colonial past on the post-colonial Netherlands.
