Seven young scientists to attend the Lindau Nobel Laureate Meetings

What young scientist wouldn't want to meet a Nobel Prize winner? The Lindau Nobel Laureate Meetings are unique gatherings in Lindau, Germany, at which young and established researchers meet to find inspiration and share knowledge. Seven researchers nominated by the Academy will attend this year.

The 73rd Lindau Nobel Laureate Meetings will take place from 30 June to 5 July 2024, focusing this year on physics. Among the more than 600 participants will be seven promising researchers nominated by the Academy. The programme includes lectures by Nobel laureates (and interactive lunches with them), master classes, poster presentations, ‘Science Walks’, and various social events.

Since 2008, the Academy has nominated young scientists working at a Dutch university to the Council for the Lindau Nobel Laureate Meetings, which makes the selection for participation. The Academy makes a contribution towards the cost of its nominees' participation. The seven selected by the committee to attend the Lindau Nobel Laureate Meetings are:

  • Sanne Bloot, University of Groningen
  • Yaroslav Herasymenko, Leiden University
  • Pauline Kolbeck, Utrecht University
  • Mike Pols, Eindhoven University of Technology
  • Marine Schut, University of Groningen
  • Tereza Vakhtel, Leiden University
  • Sanjay Vatsal, University of Twente
